Good Grants offers user-friendly grant application process to Australian fire recovery initiatives
The Bellingen Shire Council is located in the mid north coast region of New South Wales, Australia.
The Council runs the Disaster Recovery and Resilience Grant Program to provide funding to support the broader community (individuals, business and organisations) recovering from the effects of the 2019-2020 bushfire season.
Program challenges before coming to Good Grants
“Our grant programs are managed in-house by the Grants and Business Development Officer. Previously, this was through a manual and highly administrative process that took significant amounts of time,” said Maxine Compton, grants program manager with the Council.
They needed an online system to streamline their entire grants application and review process.
The Good Grants choice
“We were looking to reduce the administration of the grant programs, be user friendly and better manage the overall process through an online means,” Compton said.”
“The Good Grants system was attractive as it appeared to be user friendly and intuitive. It was also ‘friendly’ in appearance for the end-user and easy to navigate.”
Favourite Good Grants features
The Council uses Good Grants to streamline their entire application process.
“The notification/Broadcast feature is good for quick messaging, and we also like being able to search within chapters/streams and the viewing features,” Compton said.
Good Grants success
“The Good Grants system has created efficiencies in terms of the application process and some other parts of the grants process,” Compton said. “It’s a good, easy-to-use system”.
